Q & A with Tiffany Young

How did you get into pediatrics?
Working as a licensed family childcare assistant, my experience working with a specific child with sickle cell anemia furthered my interest in pediatrics. I observed how a lack of support and the need for culturally competent care result in many challenges that can affect a child’s overall quality of life. I wanted to be part of that change. So, as I furthered my career in nursing and specializing in pediatrics, I wanted to ensure that every child receives the best optimal care and that families’ concerns are heard and validated.

Where did you grow up?
Born in Boston, MA. Lived in Belize till I was 5 y/o and returned to the U.S. where I continue growing up in Brockton, MA.

Where do you live?
Brooklyn, NY.

What do you enjoy most about working in your neighborhood office?
Building relationships with children and their families and learning my patient population that I served and their values

What keeps you motivated?
My family.

What do you do for fun?
Yoga/pilates, dancing, traveling, and spending time with my family.
