THE NINE MONTH VISIT

The Nine Month Visit

At the nine month visit we will:

  • Check your baby’s height, weight and head circumference.

GUIDANCE

Development: Your little one will be able to sit without support, turn to your voice and pass an object from one hand to the other. They will also begin to make single syllable sounds (“ga”) and imitate the sounds you make when you talk to them.

Solid food: By now your baby is enjoying a wide range of foods, and it’s time to get them used to food with a texture they can chew. No teeth? No problem! Baby’s gums will do just fine until they grows some! We will talk to you about introducing chunky foods into their diet and how to avoid choking hazards. We’ll also tell you how to start them on cow’s milk or other types of milk if you would like to ease up on breastfeeding or wean off the formula. Read on…

Separation anxiety and stranger anxiety: You may recall that we told you this would start at around 6 months. Now, it’s full on. We will cover this as well so you won’t have to carry your tiny tot on your hip non-stop for the next few months. Read on…
