Summer is just about in full swing, and now is a great time for kids and families to explore everything the city has to offer. From Pride Month, Juneteenth events, outdoor festivals, fairs, educational programs, and more, there’s so much to enjoy this season.
Dive into our curated list of activities and events around the regions we serve in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, New Jersey, and Westchester!
Manhattan
Manhattan Anti-Prom at New York Public Library
June 21st | 6:30PM – 9PM | NYPL Stephen A. Schwarzman Bldg, Midtown
Join the Manhattan Anti-Prom, the Library’s annual teen celebration, for a night of music, art activities, snacks, and dancing. While special outfits are encouraged, they’re optional. This inclusive event celebrates young people of all sexualities, gender identities, and expressions. Highlights include a fashion show featuring student designers from the High School of Fashion Industries!
Make Music Day New York
June 21st | Citywide
Celebrate the vibrant creativity and diversity of New York City through Make Music New York. Musicians from various backgrounds, ages, and skill levels come together to showcase the city’s musical talent. This event embraces diversity in ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical abilities, and more, ensuring a day filled with music that resonates throughout the city.
NYC KidsFest Performing Arts Festival in Harlem
June 14th – 15th | Richard Rodgers Amphitheater (Friday), Frederick Douglass Blvd at West 120th Street (Saturday), Harlem
Enjoy live performances, workshops, and activities at this family-friendly arts festival held at two locations in Harlem.
Juneteenth Celebration in Rockefeller Park
June 15th | Battery Park City, Manhattan
Join the eighth annual Emancipation Day celebration featuring art, history, and music from Juneteenth LP, showcasing the African Diaspora’s music traditions through classically trained Black musicians. The event also includes activities by the Federation of Black Cowboys for ages 3 and up.
Brooklyn
Brooklyn Pride
June 4th – June 15th | Various locations throughout Brooklyn
Celebrate Pride Month with events including a comedy show, Pride night with the Brooklyn Cyclones, and a Youth Pride celebration.
Farmhouse Family Day: Juneteenth
June 15th | Wyckoff Farm, Flatbush, Brooklyn
Join the community celebration at Wyckoff Farm with storytelling and crafts for all ages in honor of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth Food Festival at Weeksville Heritage Center
June 15th | 11am-8pm | Crown Heights, Brooklyn
Experience the vibrant Juneteenth Food Festival celebrating Black food, culture, and history. Enjoy food from 30+ Black-owned businesses, music by Soul Summit Music DJ collective, dance performances, workshops, and more.
The Bronx
Family Art Project: Family Tree for Father’s Day at Wave Hill
June 15th – 16th | Wave Hill, Riverdale
Celebrate Father’s Day by designing a tree sculpture to hold special memories and photos.
MORE Opera’s Juneteenth Jubilee 2024
June 15th | Bronx Music Hall Amphitheatre, South Bronx
Enjoy a free outdoor concert celebrating Juneteenth with musical performances in Spanish and English, featuring spirituals and opera excerpts.
NYC Parks Presents: Schools Out Celebration
